At the Toronto International FIlm Festival (TIFF), experimental cinema grows stronger year after year. This year's edition, running from September 7th to the 16th , holds the sixth edition of its Wavelengths programme. Wavelengths (in homage to canadian artist Michael Snow), is devoted exclusively to experimental cinema, in its creator's words, "showcasing works by artists who use the medium as a means of personal expression to explore cinema's unique temporal, tactile, and aural qualities.". Among the works displayed in the programme, there are the new works by Peter Tscherkassky, Matthias Müller, Lawrence Jordan, Cynthia Madansky and Abbas Kiarostami.
