Videoart.net, the international network for underground video art & experimental film is excited to announce a call for entries for its first annual festival, "Video Art & Experimental Film Festival"

We invite video artists and filmmakers from all over the world to submit their work. How to submit?

About the Festival:

The Video Art and Experimental Film Festival 2010 will offer a wide spectrum of contemporary video art and experimental films. the event will take place on May 22nd, 2010 at “Tribeca Cinemas,” 54 Varick Street, New York , NY.

The much anticipated festival promises to be a watershed event towards the development of this art form, pushing it free from its traditional home in galleries and museums and lifting it to its rightful place in today’s digital revolution.

Festival Format:

The Video Art and Experimental Film Festival will be a 1-day event consisting of a screening, a curator/filmmaker panel and a reception.

Festival Mission:

Videoart.net's Video Art & Experimental Film Festival aspires to shed new light on the definition of the video art genre. The festival will showcase a diverse cross-section of contemporary video artists and experimental filmmakers.

In the upcoming festival, Videoart.net intends to modernize and expand video art from its traditional birth place in galleries and museums, to integrate the medium into the  broader context of today's post-digital and internet revolution.

Festival Panel:

A panel of nationally recognized and distinguished professionals within the film and art world will review the qualifying submissions and also participate in a panel discussion about the intersection of video art and independent film.
