On the final day of Cinema of Sensations: The Never-Ending Screen of Val del Omar, artists Esperanza Collado and David García Casado collaborate on a live expanded cinema performance that explicitly links Trágame nube, Collado’s work on view in the exhibition, to the artistic philosophies of José Val del Omar. The short performance, in the gallery where Collado’s work is installed, uses 16mm films, audio recordings of Val del Omar, and a fictional interview between Collado and Val del Omar. 

About the artists: 

Esperanza Collado is an artist-researcher based in Spain. Her work often focuses on the dematerialization of film in art practices, the performativity of writing, and the figure of the artist as meta-historian. David García Casado is a Spain-born visual artist, essayist, art critic, and editor based in NYC. He has a Ph.D. in Fine Arts specializing in Conceptual Art and Language Arts.
