The People’s Revolt: A New Constitution, is an experimental film and video screening inspired by the social movement that bursted on October 18, 2019 in Chile, and that led the country to a plebiscite to vote for a new constitution. The original program, The People's Revolt, premiered over 2 years ago at Anthology Film Archives.

“The People’s Revolt has been a dream in the minds and hearts of many generations of Chileans.

During a night of silence, perhaps in my early childhood when there was a curfew imposed by the dictatorship, I tapped into this dream and I have never been able to go back to sleep again.

The dream is made up of multiple images created by Chilean and First Nations artists who seek to escape and destroy a powerful shell of death that takes root in the beaches, lakes, valleys, mountains and deserts of my land.

In this screening I will share with you some of these images. The most recent ones. From a time in which the majority of Chileans and the people of Wallmapu returned to dreaming while awake. With their hands full of popular creative power they were capable of ripping that shell from its roots.

As long as these images propagate in the minds of the viewers, The People's Revolt's dream will come to life and show you the way.” – The People’s Revolt by Anto Astudillo
