ANALOGICA is celebrating its thirteenth edition and returns to the spaces of Waag and FotoForum in Bolzano for a new event dedicated to experimental cinema and family film archives. It is precisely the family archives in Super 8 format that help recover a story of love and resistance that would otherwise have been lost. Nelly and Nadine is the extraordinary documentary by Magnus Gertten, to which the opening night of Analogica is dedicated.

Family archives are also found in the rich selection of short films from around the world, Analogica Selection 13. Thirty-two films divided into 8 programs that accompany all the days of the festival. This year, we are delighted to be joined on this enjoyable exploration by American filmmaker Jeanne Liotta, who will present three of her remarkable films and a performance with a 16mm projector.

And speaking of 16mm, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, it is the format we have chosen for the new Analogica workshop, curated by Ieva Balode, a filmmaker and representative of the independent Baltic Analog Lab, to whom we dedicate a special screening.
