Call for submissions is now open for the 16th Busan International Video Art Festival.
BIVAF mainly introduces video artworks that deal with contemporary social issues. In particular, we plan to invite works on post-Soviet spaces and cities this year, and we would like to select works that can be presented together through the open call. The submissions are open from 1 to 20 August. For details, please refer to the guidelines below. You can also find the guidelines and Google Forms link on our website and Social media. Thank you for your interest.
Plicnik Collective presents n∰menon, a video installation developed by Amelie Mckee and Melle Nieling at Künstlerhaus Dortmund. The work hints at an undisclosed occurrence through a series of interviews. The interviewees contrast and confuse, turning the phenomenon into both a spiritual spectacle and an economic force. The sculptures are conceived as apparatuses, sized to the human body they outline the absence of a user. The work prompts us to examine a continuous feeling of paranoid threat, in which the unknown opens the imagination.
