MONO NO AWARE XVI Cinema Arts Festival OPEN CALL for ENTRIES You are welcome to submit (and attend)  Deadline October 1st 11:59 PM 2022.  Free to submit, free to attend, since 2007.  This year's exhibition is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)

Biennial exhibition of Expanded Cinema, Performance, Installation and Sculpture that incorporates the moving image on S8MM, 16MM, 35MM film or altered light.  Non-Competitive, All ages, International festival celebrating cinematic art forms. Presenting artists are all in attendance and receive accommodations with travel stipends.

MONO NO AWARE is proud to promote the 16mm Optically Printed work “VOLCANO: WHAT DOES A LAKE DREAM?” by Diana Vidrascu as our festival call for entries image this year. Diana Vidrascu (1987, Romania) is a filmmaker based in Paris, France. Working with film, photography and installation, Diana Vidrascu questions the narrative devices of cinema by challenging the limits of the narrative discourse and codes of the film genres.
