The Museum of Club Culture is pleased to present An installation of film and video work by artist Kerry Baldry. Kerry Baldry comes from both a Fine Art and a film and video background. Within the first year of leaving art college she was selected to make a film for BBC2s One Minute Television which was broadcast on BBC2s The Late Show. (a joint collaboration between BBC2 and The Arts Council, also screened at the ICA and then became part of a touring programme)
She has continued to make work primarily with 16mm film (edited in camera using facilities such as superimposition and stop frame) and more recently video. Her work has had screenings and been in exhibitions at international film festivals, galleries, including the I.C.A., The Lux, The Rotterdam Film Festival, Big Screen Liverpool, Hull Film Festival, Lux Open, Video Arts Plastique France, London Film Makers Co Op, Lewisham Art House Gallery etc.
Aspects of the human condition are a recurrent theme and her work and her film ‘Body' was shown continuously on large outdoor screens in 11 cities in Russia, part of OUTVIDEO video arts festival and some of her sculpture work is now in the collection of David Roberts Art Foundation.
Kerry’s artistic practice encompasses film, video, sound and installation, painting and sculpture and her video work will be screened on monitors at the Museum of Club Culture's gallery space in Hull for 2 weekends 24th April - 10th May.
