Hi!

The question hasn't arised until now. Maybe you like the actual look, maybe you don't care or haven't even thought about it :) This forum works on SMF, which lets you change the "visual theme" dinamically, and even let users choose whichever fits their tastes best. The current theme is called DilberMC.

You can have a look at what's currenlty available here: http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/

If you see anything that catches your eye, we can talk about it :D

Nothing really stood out on there from a quick glance, but there's one thing with the style that's been bugging me a little. I really wish there were a visual indication as to whether there is new content in the individual boards. It takes me a while to look down at all the dates. Some forums have like a grey mail icon (like our paper icon), that turns a darker colour when there is new content. Do you think that is possible?

Not only it's possible, but it's already this way! Maybe it's not too obvious at first, but the paper leaves at the left of the foruim's names are completely blank when there are no new posts, and a light shade of blue when there are (or you have unread posts there). If you come across some icons that you liek best, i could replace them.

Like the style of the forum fine as it is, the only thing that I am not sure about is the blue tones. It looks fine, but I think  pale blue can feel a bit cold. I think perhaps for a socially orientated site, a warmer tone might be better. Just a thought anyway.

The actual theme (DilberMC) comes in 12 colours. Check them :)

Think navy is perhaps the best after all, the silver is ok too, but not much in it really for me.

I forgot to mention there are already a couple of alternative themes installed. If you want to have a look at them, you can do so at the admin panel, "Themes and layout", "Manage and install" tab and press "select" on the "Overall forum default" option. There will appear a list of the themes available and you can check them with the "preview" option without changing the one used.
