Haverhill Experimental Film Festival

Hannah Dustin of Haverhill, Massachusetts scalped ten Native Americans during captivity in March of 1697. Word spread, public statues erected, and a folk hero was made permanent. To this day, her tomahawk lay unperturbed in a local museum, rewarding the strange violence that plagued this valley oh so long ago.

Three hundred and sixteen years later, the Haverhill Experimental Film Festival enters its second year. As the only experimental film festival in Massachusetts, H.E.F.F. 2014 proudly returns to the Merrimack Valley. The inaugural year proved successful beyond our most humble expectations. Two-hundred submissions rolled in in under three months. With 45 official selections, we christened the screening room so eloquently titled, "The Barn." Six filmmakers were in attendance while 60-75 people plopped their dairy-aires in those rusty seats each screening. A rugged, yet classy event. Exactly what we wanted. We sure hope you HEFFers come back!
