I'm doing a research about flicker films. I know all the classics: Peter Kubelka, Tony Conrad, Paul Sharits, etc. but I was wondering if someone could tell me more examples, even not related with cinema (videoart, installations... ) or any good books or articles about this topic.

you might find the framing of perception (available at LightCone, Paris) of interest as it's an enquiry into the structure of the film medium itself.

There was a programme of flicker films at AFA not too long ago:

[quote]FLICKER FILM WEEKEND!

Featuring films by:
Nik Sheehan (in person!) • William S. Burroughs & Anthony Balch • Paul Sharits • Tony Conrad • Bradley Eros & Jeanne Liotta • Peter Kubelka • Victor Grauer

• Filmmaker Nik Sheehan in person all weekend!
• Artist/turntablist Paul D. Miller, a.k.a. DJ Spooky, That Subliminal Kid (who is featured in the doc) will be in person for Q&A at this Sunday's June 14, 8pm FLicKeR screening!

Nik Sheehan
FLicKeR
(2007, 72 minutes, video. Special thanks to Ray Privett.)
"Really, I think, behind everything, he was trying to teach people to see differently." -Marianne Faithfull, on Brion Gysin
The Dream Machine looks simple enough: a 100-watt light bulb, a motor, and a rotating cylinder with cutouts. Just sit in front of it, close your eyes, and wait for the visions to come. The Dream Machine offers a drugless high that its creator - poet, artist, calligrapher, and mystic Brion Gysin - believed would revolutionize human consciousness. He wasn't alone. William S. Burroughs thought it could be used to "storm the citadels of enlightenment."
Taking the Dream Machine as the basis of its explorations, FLicKeR asks crucial questions about the nature of art and consciousness, and imagines a humanity liberated to explore its creativity in complete freedom.

A couple of homages to Kubelka's 'Arnulf Rainer' recently mentioned in Frameworks:

I recently made a flicker film dedicated to Tony Conrad. “prime perfect“ was conceived in 1984, but not realized until 2016!
